Object Description

Antique oil on copper painting after Constant Joseph Brochart called ‘Simple Amour’ – a Young Woman Holding a Dove, Circa 1890 in date.

A beautiful painting depicting a young woman holding a dove symbolising love which should be treasured. Doves were also associated with messengers of good news, so possibly the artist wanted to capture the moment when this pretty lady was trying to send her lover a letter.

The painting is in a very decorative gilt wood frame which compliments the painting and looks stunning.
