Object Description
A beautiful pair of seascape paintings of fishing boats attributed to William Mcalpine (British 19th century) titled ‘Beached Fishing Vessels’ and ‘Shipping in Rough Seas’, Circa 1860 in date.
This is a pair of sensitively painted waterscapes of boats on the shore and boats in very rough seas.
Many works by the artist have been sold at auction, including ‘In close quarters in the Channel off Dover’ sold at Christie’s South Kensington ‘MARITIME & NAVAL BATTLES (PICTURES)’ in 2006 for $5,488.
