Object Description
Great Northwest Persian Bidjar carpets are renowned for their superior use of color. This charming rug uses a full spectrum of vegetal dyes ranging from aubergine reds to blues and greens. Diagonal rows of rose and aubergine floral paisleys or ‘boteh’ radiate against a deep indigo field. A similar interplay between light and dark is seen in the border system. White is used sparingly and with great effect.
