Object History

This traditional design has been handwoven with hand-spun wool and cotton, all of which have been dyed using traditional vegetable dying techniques. Handwoven in 1910. Hamadan is one of the oldest cities in the world, situated in the western part of Iran. Hamadan is well known as a hub for selling carpets from the surrounding areas. Easily recognised bu their typical size and varying medallion patterns.
