This wool rug is a fine example of an antique Persian Kashan Rug. Featuring a traditional intricate central medallion woven on a cream field that floats on a teal blue background with floral motifs and scrolls running through the medallion and surround design with various colour accents. The Border and corners of the central design have been woven on a deep red background which contrasts beautifully with the centre. This antique Persian rug was handwoven by master weavers in Persia with handspun wool. All of the rich colours in this rug come from natural vegetable dying techniques.
