Antique Russian precious stone and cameo adorned silver miniature casket

Height 7cm, width 12cm, depth 10cm
This fine oval silver box is designed in an elegant style. The box features grooved sides and a radially grooved hinged cover, all crafted from silver. The external surface of the box, including the top of the cover, is profusely adorned with variously coloured semi-precious stones and portrait cameos. The cover opens to reveal a velvet lined interior. The silver is marked ‘EK’ and ’84 / A*C / 1894’.
