Object Description
A rare mahogany cased single framed sextant by D McGregor & Co of Clyde Place, Glasgow, dating from the late 19th Century.
This example is comprised of one frame connected by numerous pillars with index arm containing a Vernier and clamp release with adjustable magnifier over the top. The silvered arc is divided from 0 – 140 degrees. It has four index shades and three horizon shades and a telescope. The back has an original ebony handle and telescope adjustment screw.
The sextant comes complete with its original case original telescope with three fitting and D. M’Greggor and co label.
A beautiful addition for any avid collector.
