Object Description
This elegant Sheraton period and style writing table dates form the Regency period. It has beautiful faded rosewood veneers which are strung in boxwood, satinwood and ebony.
The top has been fitted with a replacement black hide writing leather with blind and gilt tooling. This is surrounded by a wide band of satinwood and a cross-band of rosewood.
There are two deep drawers fitted to the frieze have satinwood stringing to the front edges, olive wood linings, hand cut dovetail joints and the original brass locks and keys. The drawers are opened by pulling from beneath the front edge or by using the key.
The table is supported on end standards with convex curved legs terminating with the original brass castors.
