Object Description
The Qashqai Nomads are found in the southwest of Iran and live in the provinces of Fars, Khuzestan, and Southern Isfahan but have now settled in towns and villages, mostly in the region of Shiraz. The tribe’s willingness to assimilate with other ethnic groups of Kurdish, Lori and Afshar heritage has created a confederacy or melting pot that has sustained their existence and diversity. The traditional craft of weaving carpets, Kilims, bags, and other decorative items of functional tribal art is a culturally important part of their heritage. The field of the carpets has a typical red-brown ground color, highlighted with other natural shades of blues, greens, and ivory. The patterns are created from memory and often consist of centrally placed medallions, sometimes repeated in all four corners with stylized animals and other folk symbols that have celebrated for their dynamic tribal aesthetic. Perfect for any modern or traditional home. Decorate your floors with this luxurious silk rug in your bedroom, living room or entrance way.
