Antique Silver and Shell Inkwell

Object Description

An early 19th century desk item. An unusual sterling silver mounted shell on pedestal foot with a hinge top inkwell, taperstick and snuffer. Height 13.3 cm. Width 15.3 cm. London 1837. Maker Thomas Diller.

Object Condition

This shell inkwell is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. All pieces are marked with English silver hallmarks. All completely original, matching and fully functional.
