An Antique Silver Magnificent extensive French 1st Standard Silver, Service of plates. French first standard silver has a millesimal fineness of 950. All the plates are of circular form the rims embellished with a guilloche pattern, the centres engraved with a coat of arms. The service is comprised of 24 Dinner Plates, 24 Soup Plates, 24 Butter/ Bread Plates, 24 Underplates / Chargers. The whole service made c 1890 by Emile Puiforcat and engraved with the coat of arms of Count and Countess Martignone of Milan Italy. All fitted into eight boxes. Dimensions each Butter Plates 5.75 inches 15 cm, Soup Plates 9.75 inches 24.6 cm , Dinner Plates 9.75 24.6 cm, Under/Charger Plates 11 inches 28 cm. Weight, total for 24 Butter Plates 167 troy oz., 24 Soup Plates 508 oz., 24 Dinner 508 oz and Under/Charger Plates approx 640 troy oz.
