This is a beautiful antique Victorian triple clam shell shaped silver plated biscuit box stamped ‘Staniforth patent’ by the Fenton Brothers, circa 1870 in date.
The scalloped biscuit box features a rounded triangular pyramid scalloped shell shaped body which is supported by a decorative twig frame raised on hoof feet.
The box opens simultaneously in three parts to reveal three hinged compartments twith pierced dividers.
This container could house anything from sweets to biscuits, trinkets or earrings. Whatever you choose to store in this lovely item you are sure to do it in style.

The Fenton Brothers firm was established in 1875 at South Moor Works, East Street, Sheffield by John Frederick Fenton and Frank Fenton. The firm became a limited liability company in 1896 as Fenton Brothers Ltd. Manufacturer of both sterling silver and silver plated wares. Folding biscuit boxes were a popular item.
