Antique Sultanabad carpet

Object Description

A very elegant antique Sultanabad carpet woven in the north of Persia in the last 1/4 of the 19th Century. The soft dyes and decorative open floral design make this an ideal carpet to place into a variety of rooms. It is a classical carpet with soft modern colours, it would look beautiful in a drawing room or dining room. A rare soft white background colour, mostly these were woven with stronger reds and blues.

Object Condition

The condition is very good indeed, with a good medium to high pile and no major loss at the ends or sides. No large areas of restoration just minimal tidy up.
