A good 18th century double ended beech spice measure, having a turned central concave collar and incised line decoration. It has excellent interior pole lathe turnings. The majority of measures of this form are 19th century, which are slightly rounded by the central collar, where as the 18th century ones are vertical as in this instance. The whole has a good colour, grain and patination.
Diameter of the narrower end: 1.50 in. (4 cm.)
