Object Description
An interesting oval brass banded lidded casket, probably for Jewellery, having a brass hinged domed and scolloped lid and fitted with an interior brass lock and exterior escutcheon plate. The original hinge has been moved and it has minor restoration to the interior top edge. It is made of an indigenous wood, similar to English walnut and has a good colour and patination throughout.
