Object Description

A pleasing well turned three section boxwood glove powdering flask, having a top part that unscrews to reveal five small holes for the powder, and then the base also unscrews for filling purposes. The whole has a lovely honey colour and patination and is in pristine condition, which is amazing owing to the fine and delicate detail and construction. They were needed when the gloves were too tight, especially in the Victorian times when long tight fitting gloves were in fashion. They were used in glove shops and in the bedroom, and if as in this instance, they were screw caps they were also made for travelling.
