Object Description
An extensively well carved birch wood spice or dry storage jar from the Gudbrandsdal region of Norway, having a well carved fitted lid that has a raised central finial (handle). The concave body is again extensively carved with scrolling foliage and decorative bands to the top and base. The whole has an excellent medium colour and patination.
