Object Description

This is a truly magnificent and highly attractive large Victorian military band drum by the world-famous manufacturer of instruments, Hawkes & Son, London, circa 1892 in date.

This remarkable drum is made of sturdy wood, well-built rope and stretched hyde leather and is beautifully hand-painted with vibrant and joyful colours such as lively yellow and intense red, making this exceptional musical instrument a truly captivating item.

One section of the drum features a distinctive large black cartouche with the initials ‘LCC’ within a gorgeous foliate frame.

The drum is signed ‘Hawkes & Son, Makers, 28, Leicester Square, London’.

This incredible drum is a must-have for any collector of musical and decorative pieces.

Condition:
In good condition with signs of wear commensurate with age and use.
