An antique Victorian sterling silver bowl which is circular in shape with a deep body, gadroon decoration around the top rim, a wonderful frieze depicting heads of leopards together with bows, urns and swags and resting on a round pedestal foot. The lower half of the body has been designed with attractive leaf decoration and there are two side handles with leopards’ heads and ring attachments. This silver bowl has been made to the highest standard, both in quality and workmanship, and would make a unique table feature. On the base of the bowl, it states “Elkington & Co. Ltd, Silversmiths to the Queen”. It weighs 71.5 troy ounces (2,223 grams).
