Object Description
A canteen of Victorian Sterling silver cutlery for twelve persons which has been designed in the fiddle pattern style and consists of:
12 x table knives measuring: 24.70 cms in length
12 x dessert knives measuring: 22.00 cms in length
12 x table forks measuring: 20.60 cms in length
12 x dessert forks measuring: 17.60 cms in length
12 x table spoons measuring : 22.50 cms in length
12 x dessert spoons measuring: 18.40 cms in length
12 x teaspoons measuring: 14.60 cms in length
2 x sauce ladles measuring: 18.00 cms in length
1 x basting spoon measuring: 30.40 cms in length
This silver set has been made to a high standard and remains in excellent condition. It totals 87 pieces and ranges in date from 1840-1863 and each piece has been made by George Adams. The table knives and dessert knives are new with silver handles and stainless steel blades and have been sympathetically designed in keeping with the fiddle pattern style. This silver set sits neatly in a fitted oak canteen box and the interior has been recently renewed to make it look more presentable. This silver set would be perfect to use and would grace any dining table. The total weight is 111 troy ounces excluding the knives and the box measures 23.30 cms in height x 44.40 cms in length x 32.20 cms in width.
