Object Description
This is a beautiful antique Victorian sterling silver presentation cup/trophy hallmarked for Edinburgh 1877 with the silversmiths mark for James MacKay – it’s also marked ‘Mackay, Cunningham & Co’ around the base.
One side of the trophy has a super engraved scene of three runners with trees and a gate in the background.
The other side is engraved ‘Edinburgh Harriers, 100 Yards Scratch Race Challenge Cup Presented by Campbell Quin Esqre of Inistryinch’.
It measures 10” (26 cm) tall x 5 1/2” (14 cm) across the top, weighs 525.8 grams and is in excellent condition with the original gilding inside .
