This is a super antique early Victorian sterling silver wine ewer / jug with a shaped body and handle and hinged lid with flower finial.
It’s hallmarked for London 1846 and has the makers mark for Benjamin Smith.
It measures 10 1/2″ (27 cms) tall to the top of the handle x 6 1/2″ (16 cms) across the widest point.
It weighs 894.6 grams / 28.7 troy oz and has a 2 1/2 pint capacity.
It’s in super condition and is nice and clean inside making it perfect for use today – could also be used for water.
