Object Description
This antique chest on chest (or ‘tallboy’) was made before mahogany had began to be imported into the United Kingdom. It is made of walnut and has featherbanding round the drawers and the timber has been cut to make it symmetrical on all show wood surfaces. It has faded to a good rich honey colour over its 300 year existence and now just needs a good home where it will serve its new owners as the most elegant storage system we can think of. English circa 1720.
