Antique William 1V Mahogany Partners Library Table / Desk
This antique William 1V partners library table or desk is constructed from well figured mahogany timbers. It has recently benefited from professional cleaning and polishing which had brought out the deep rich mahogany patina.
It has a black leather writing surface with gilt and blind tooling which is surrounded by a cross band of figured mahogany and has rounded corners with a thumb molded edge.
Each side of the width are fitted with three mahogany lined drawers with hand cut dovetails and brass locks and turned mahogany knobs.
One of the drawers has an old paper label inside with the details for ‘Spillman and Spencer, Furniture Warehouse, 42 Bell Yard, Temple Barr.
The table stands on four turned and tapering octagonal legs terminating in the original brass cup castors.
This is a well proportioned antique partners library table or desk is in excellent antique condition and would be a handsome addition to any office, library or study.
