Object Description
This is a superb antique William IV sterling silver water pot / jug measuring 8 1/4″ (22 cms) tall to the top of the handle x 6 1/2″ (16.5 cms) across from handle to spout with a 1 and a quarter pint capacity.
The condition is superb with no damage at all – any marks you can see on the silver is just shadow or reflection.
The hinged lid is nice and strong and has a pretty flower finial and inside is nice and clean and perfectly usable.
It’s hallmarked for London 1836 with the silversmiths mark for Benjamin Preston.
It weighs 699 grams / 22.4 troy ounces and has beautiful decoration with no inscriptions or monograms.
