Provenance:
Given by Lord Snowdon to his friends, the actor and director Bryan Forbes and wife, the actress Nanette Newman.

Lord Snowdon’s office have confirmed that these photographs were produced in 1968.

Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdown was a photographer and filmmaker. He was best known for his society portraits and fashion photography for Vogue, Vanity Fair, Tatler, Queen and other magazines. His sitters included Elizabeth Taylor; David Hockney; Diana, Princess of Wales, Princess Grace of Monaco, David Bowie and many others. In 1981 his group portrait of the rock band Queen was used on the cover of their Greatest Hits album.

He was also involved in film making and design, co-creating the “Snowdon Aviary” at London Zoo in 1964 and taking a major role in designing the 1969 investiture of his nephew, Prince Charles, as Prince of Wales.

He was married to Princess Margaret, the sister of Queen Elizabeth II.
