Art Deco White Onyx & Malachite Cigarette Box

Object Description

A superb condition original Art Deco cigarette box by Henry Griffith & Sons of Birmingham & Leamington Spa.

With beautifully veined white Onyx and inlaid Malachite stringing to the lid, the box has a Malachite finger lift with further inset Malachite and hallmarked silver fitted finger stamped along the face with “HG&S” and “Made in England”.

Object History

Henry Griffiths & Sons was formed in the late 1840’s by Henry Griffith silversmith with his sons following him into the business during the late nineteeth century.
