A stylish Burmantofts Faience Partie-Color pottery planter with scrolling floral designs dating from around 1895. The round earthenware planter stands on narrow round pedestal foot with a recessed base and has a wide round shape body narrowing slightly to a wide round raised and flared rim. The body of the planter is decorated with incised floral and scroll patterns hand painted in brightly colored glazes against a cream colored ground. The planter is decorated in tones of yellow, turquoise and green with incised patterning to elements of the lower body. The inner body and base have been decorated with yellow toned glazes and the planter has impressed marks to the base and is also marked with the colorway, possibly as a trial piece.
