Object Description

Burmese ruby and diamond ring. Set horizontally to centre with one cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.20 carats, adjacently set with one round old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.70 carats, adorned further with twelve round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.25 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.95 carats to an ornate two stone design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery featuring millegrain decoration and foliate motifs and fancy open backholing, flanked by broad integrated shoulders with openwork details and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank engraved with scrolling foliate decoration. Tested platinum, circa 1920, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report 81286-04.
