Byzantine gold earrings. A matching pair of bifacial gold crescent earrings, each consisting of a curved plaque displaying intricate decorative openwork, featuring a central dove motif surrounded by foliage in a symmetrical design, beaded border detailing, adorned with five radiating lobes, approximately 3.50cm in length to top of hook, fitted with a hinged wire hook and eye closure. Tested yellow gold, approximately 13.7g, circa 6th-7th century.
