A stylish Belgian Art Deco Boch Freres Keramis art pottery lidded jar decorated with cockerels and designed by Charles Catteau around 1925. The barrel shaped jar stands on a rounded base with a domed cover with a central integral handle. The body of the jar is decorated with panels set in a black outline within geometric borders and containing a stylized cockerel and are adjoined by patterned sections with abstract pod designs hand decorated in tones of orange and green on a white ground. The pattern sits with sections divided by vertical lines above and below and finished in mottled blue green glazes with decorative orange borders above and below. The cover is similarly decorated. The jar is marked Gres Keramis to the base and has an original old paper label. The jar has impressed marks and also bears initials A.D. and is numbered D.635.
