Charles X lapis and gilt bronze mantel clock

This finely modelled Charles X period clock with later lapis lazuli veneered decoration is a superb example of early 19th Century French craftsmanship. The rectangular lapis case body inset with a large central circular gilt bronze dial and surmounted by a full-length gilt bronze winged and kneeling figure of Cupid playing with a butterfly.
