13th Century Chinese Yuan Dynasty small blue white porcelain jar made at Jingdezhen
This excellent jar is painted to the side with Chrysanthemums and foliage around the main part of the body.
It is a rare jar as it has three lug handles below the rounded rim, the normal is two handles. The three lugs sit well on the shoulder and are equally spaced around the neck
The pattern is a recognised one from the Yuan Dynasty and can be find in Yuan and Ming Blue and White ware from Jiangxi
the blue was usually painted onto the unbaked body of the piece before glazing and firing and is an off shoot of Qing Bi ware
Excellent colour, potting and shape
