Object Description
This is a beautiful Chinese Export porcelain footed Bowl with fine Imari hand painted decoration, dating to the 18th century, circa 1700, Qing period, Kangxi ( 1662 – 1722) reign.
This bowl is well potted on a fairly high foot and of a good 8 inch plus diameter. The glaze is white with a very slight blue tinge.
It is beautifully hand decorated both inside and outside, using various shades of underglaze blue with an Imari palette of over-glaze burnt orange, red, a light salmon color and gold.
The inside centre has a central chrysanthemum with floral leaves and buds. The inner rim has an intricate border of lappets with floral detail. The outside is finely painted with a garden scene, with a central rock, fence and flowering chrysanthemums and other shrubs with trailing flowers and leaves, all in great detail with gold-gilt highlighting. The painting is really well done and has been carried out in a beautiful free flowing style. The outer foot has two floral sprigs in burnt orange.
The base is unmarked.
