This fine Chinese folding screen is crafted from lacquered wood and cloisonné enamel. The screen, composed of six hinged sections, features eighteen cloisonné enamel plaques, three to each section. The plaques are of various shapes and contain finely wrought representations of birds amid flowers over a grey-blue enamel ground. The wooden surface of the screen is wonderfully lacquered with traditional Chinese motifs and forms. The style of execution is particularly fine and distinctively Chinese.
