Chinese Kangxi Large Blue and White Ceramic Bowl

Object Description

An exquisite blue and white ceramic large bowl with original lid, from the Chinese Kangxi Period, a golden age for blue and white ceramics. The vessel and its lid have been finely decorated in underglaze blue pigment, with floral motives, including large chrysanthemum flowers and vine trails. The vessel is a beautiful example of Kangxi blue and white production.

From the Blue Chrysanthemum Wreck lost in the South China sea, late 17th century AD, recovered in 2014.

Fine, complete and intact. Dulling of glazed surfaces due to seawater exposure. Some minor chips to the rim.
