Object Description

A Chinese neolithic amphora in pale orange terracotta. The vessel has a wide funnel mouth and two small laterally positioned handles at the waist. Decoration comprises faint combed lines at and below the waist and an irregular groove at the neck.

Circa 2200-1500 BC.

Object Condition

A hair-line fracture at the rim extending downwards which is stable; otherwise complete and intact.
