A beautifully potted Chinese red terracotta jar, dating from the Siwa culture period. From its round flat base, the body spreads out to a wide waist and then tapers in again to the neck, then flaring out to form the mouth, which features the distinctive saddle-shape relating to the Siwa culture. There are two loop handles that join the shoulders to the rim.
