Object Description

Chinese 17th century transitional wucai vase made during the reign of The Emperor Shunzhi (1644-1662). Made at the kilns at Jingdezhen.
The narrative scene of dignitaries in a procession through a rocky garden with plantains. Around the middle section there is a scene with boys and ladies and around the neck scrolling tree peonies
The garlic headed vases of this type can also be found in the Dutch delft and the chinese version very much made for the Dutch market but are uncommon

Object Condition

The vase was once drilled in the base for a lamp but now restored and a small hairline to the neck. All visible on the photos
