Object Description

Ming Blue and White Porcelain provincial blue and white rounded lidded jar.
Typical shape and form for the period. Painted around the body with scrolling lotus above a band of ‘flames’ . The neck painted with a Zig Zag pattern.
The lid is the original with some firing imperfections to the rim where it has acquired some sand before firing.
The pattern is repeated to the lid in a stylised form.
The glaze falls short of the base and has been cleared off to allow for in the firing the grit kiln grit not to stick to the base.
Good example
