Object Description
This wine cooler is said to be of sarcophagus form which, along with the animal feet, shows the influence of classical Greek and Roman designs on the decorative arts at the time. The recent excavations in Greece and Pompeii also influenced designs of the times. This is a very fine quality wine cooler which even has a rope mechanism which automatically raises the bottle holder to the height of the internal surface. This wine cooler is made of really good selections of mahogany with good ‘flame’ grain pattern and will look even better when our restorers have given it a good beeswax.
