Object Description

Early Victorian Burmese ruby and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set horizontally to centre with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby with an approximate weight of 1.75 carats in an open back grain setting, encircled by a single row of fourteen cushion shape old cut diamonds with an approximate combined weight of 0.50 carats in open back claw settings, flanked by ornate carved scrolling shoulders with fleur de lis motifs and openwork, with intricate pierced claws and open backholing, leading to a solid tapered fluted shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1850, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5774-309.
