Object Description

Edwardian sapphire and diamond cluster earrings. A matching pair of earrings, each set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting, two in total with an approximate combined weight of 1.80 carats, each surrounded by a cluster of ten cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw and grain settings, twenty in total with a combined approximate weight of 3.00 carats, set to top with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting, two in total with a combined weight of 0.30 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.30 carats, to an elegant coronet cluster design featuring curving claws, intricately pierced galleries and open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure hinged fitting. Tested 18 carat rose gold and platinum, circa 1910, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #81285-55.
