Object Description

An Egyptian faience amulet depicting a wadj or papyrus sceptre, adorned with decorative incisions along with remains of some green pigmentation. The body is shaped in typical column form, tapering towards a rounded tip and flaring to a splayed terminal upon which sits a suspension loop. The decorations are intricately rendered; three linear incisions encircle the neck before the terminal. The terminal itself features diagonal incisions creating a triangular pattern, emulating the petals of a blooming lotus flower. The pattern repeats at the tip of the amulet also. The suspension loop features four linear incisions.
