A very fine Ancient Egyptian steatite scarab from the Hyksos period, with incised features such as clypeus, prothorax and elytra marked by single lines. The reverse is detailed with a male figure, facing right, wearing a toga-like garment, with a selction of defined hieroglyphs in front of him including the ankh and Uraeus. The scarab has been pierced longitudinally for suspension.
