Object Description
A vintage 18ct yellow gold brooch with original antique Elizabeth I silver coin and carved gemstone brooch, by Elizabeth Gage, 1994. The brooch is centred on an antique Elizabeth I silver sixpence coin, dated 1562 mounted into a gold disc with molten edges, the border is set with alternating round brilliant cut diamonds and single natural fancy colour diamonds of orangey brown hue. The base has a gold Tudor rose motif and to the top, a carved green tourmaline parrot head with a yellow beryl heliodor ‘crest’. The brooch is backed in 18ct yellow gold with a circular open reverse to view the back of the coin. Secured with a single pin fitting.
