This fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 15ct yellow and rose gold, with platinum details.
The yellow gold bar style brooch is ornamented with a central design modelled in the form of a snipe.
This yellow and rose gold bird has a platinum belly, all embellished with a textured decoration to imitate feathers.
The head of the snipe is embellished with mottled brown and amber enamel decoration.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp fastening.
This antique bar brooch is fitted to the original hinged velvet presentation case which has a satin and velvet lined interior.
The interior of the cover displays the retailer’s mark ‘A Sutherland, Watchmaker & Jeweller, Union Street, Coupar-Angus’
The reverse of this antique bird brooch is hallmarked with the 15ct gold fineness mark (15CT) and platinum mark (PLATM).
