Object Description
An Attractive George II Period 18th Century Walnut Mirror
Having Well Figured Fretwork Frame With Central Set
Carved Giltwood Cartouche Above Replaced Mirror
Plate Flanked By Gilded Floral Trails
(The height of early 18th century elegance this mirror has
aged gracefully and although it has quite clearly been well
used over the centuries it has certainly been well loved
as well. The walnut retains a gorgeous, warm, rich colour &
patina and the gilding has been repaired and touched up in
various places but overall is good. The mirror plate itself has
been relatively recently replaced. Unlike many mirrors of this
date and style this particular one appears to be an excellent,
useful size, neither to big or too small to use in a variety of
different settings)
