This centrepiece suite is a fantastic demonstration of the stylistic possibilities of crystal and Sheffield silver plate. The set consists of four pieces: one central epergne, with three branches leading to crystal bowls surrounding a larger central crystal bowl; two flanking centrepiece bowls; and a surtout de table. The surtout de table is mirrored, thereby reflecting the light on a dinner table. The pieces are all decorated in a similar fashion with rocailles and foliate motifs. The silver-plate is stamped ‘Sheffield’ and marked for John Turton & Co.
