Object Description

Exceptionally fine quality early 19th century (circa 1830) rosewood circular occasional table with leather top, the quality comparative to that of Gillow.

This table consists of a circular top with fine patinated leather of deep green/black tones with tooling to the outer edge with rosewood cross banding.

This leads down to a finely figured cross grain rosewood veneered frieze with finely turned ball bead decoration.

This leads down to the solid rosewood turned and carved column with acanthus carved design, turned decoration and a turned and fluted design with gadrooned collar below.

The table is supported by a tri-form base with carved edge and three scrolling acanthus feet. the feet.

This table is in excellent condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
